When I was prolly around 13 or 14 maybe? 

I would walk from the Orange Hill Trailer Park where my folks and I lived.

I’d walk about 1000 feet from our double wide and wait for the school bus every morn’n.

And on the corner of that bus stop? 

Was a modest little convenient store. 

They had all the usuals…

Sodas…

Beer…

Bread…

Even a full-size Super Mario 2 the other kids would pump full of shiny new quarters. 

But most importantly what I was focused on was…

…their CANDY. 

Now…

At that time I didn’t exactly have steady cash flow coming in.

I was 13.  

But I did cut surrounding neighbors’ yards to make money every other weekend. 

My grandparents charged me $10 every Saturday I did it.

That was for USE and WEAR & TEAR of their mower. 

Only fair! 

But let’s just say all that money went to clothes and Unfun things to a 13-year-old.

I had to earn my keep.

I was ok with that.

So, cause I didn’t exactly have access to my funds?…

I found a way for the corner store to involuntarily fund my candy campaign while I waited for the school bus…

…then I’d take the candy to school…

…and sell it for .25 cents a piece. 

Basically, I discovered I could make more money in a few days at school…

…than what I was doing in a month mowing lawns. 

Now you’d think I’d learned a moral lesson at that point…

…or a big wealth-building lesson. 

But nope. 

And I’m not proud of my behavior either.

Believe me.

So what did I do with the money from my sales?

Well, for starters I did buy more candy from my little corner store from then on…

Much more.

But one of the other things I did with some of the profits?

I BOUGHT A TRANSFORMER TOY…

Now, I bought the FIRST toy from a kid at school…

But after that? 

I started trading UP. 

I started with this little guy… 

But I ended up with THIS BIG GUY. 

His official name is, Devastator (price range in 2023 is from $58 to $800)

The cool thing is? 

It was FUN for me.

I enjoyed making deals and upgrading my trades.

And I did keep them…

But I also forgot all about them for almost 40 years! 

I’ve been carting these Transformers toys all over the country in some form or fashion since I was 13. 

And then…

As I was going through the tub they’re stored in…

…I find at the bottom of it 37 years later? 

My “traded up” Transformers toys.

Some of them are in pretty darn decent condition. 

Like Devastator.

And a few are a little worse for wear. 

Are they worth something? 

Some of them yes, some no…mostly, I dunno.

But if so?

SWEET. 

But even if not…

I’m totally ok with that too.

Because my BIG takeaway is this… 

It’s awesome to see I was pretty creative and savvy at a young(er) age.

But it’s even more FUN to see how it came full circle and is still expressing itself in my play/work mentality as an adult.  

And yes work is more play for me these days:-)

Looking back on this it also firms up that resourcefulness is WAY more valuable than just resources alone.

Peeps have always said, “Information is power…”

But I’d say, information is just DATA that’s IN-FORMATION. 

There’s no power behind it unless there’s an application of energy to organize it, aim it, and put it into some kind of FLOW.  

In flow means in front of lots of people’s eyeballs.

To me? Resourcefulness IS power!

It’s good to see it played out in my adult life as well…

And I wanna give you an opportunity to capitalize on it…

You see…

I’ve been leveraging other people’s online assets like email lists & FB groups for small windfalls for a few years now. 

• I get control of an asset and partner with them (a “trashcan” email list) 

• Do something to the asset (I polish their offer and run a Rainmaker Campaign) 

• Then put that offer into distribution (pull sales from their audience on demand)

And I do all of that without my partners lifting a finger.

Except today? 

I don’t um, “barrow candy” from the store anymore (I’m still not proud of that)…

I bought A LOT of candy after that first funding, ok?! lol

To me? 

Wealth isn’t about how much money I make today…

I don’t think that’s a useful question that leads to long-term results.

Like mailbox money that just keeps coming in year after year.

Mailbox money is fun because I keep getting checks LONG after I did the thing that kicked that new revenue stream off, to begin with…

No wealth has a few definitions but for where I was at?

Here’s how it went…

There was a single question that made me sit up straight in my chair…

…and take a deep yet somber breath.

The question I asked myself was, “What’s my quality of life if I can’t work the next 6 to 12 months?…” 

And I didn’t like my answer when I asked it.

Even though I was making a solid 5-figures a month!

Because that 5-figures a month was dependent on ME showing up every…single…day.

So guess what?

I got to be the dashing Brad Pitt in my own everyday movie!

But if I wasn’t preparing for a role or acting?

I wasn’t getting paid!

I had to get off the Client Merry-Go-Round.

I didn’t have to just assess what I was doing…

…like working with clients, working on retainers, answering to other freak’n people’s demands)…

I had to assess who I was BEING…

Do I want to be a coach? A copywriter? A freelancer? A marketer?

Hellz no!

Then what exactly was I going to be?

And the answer I’ve come to today?

It’s different than when I was in my 20’s.

I would have likely said I wanted to be the dashing Brad Pitt in the movie of my life.

Or in today’s language the online Influencer.

But you know, in my journey I’ve become OK with easing my approach.

Using LESS energy to get GREATER results.

Seeing excess where everyone else sees endings.

Or said another way…

I can be the movie producer of my life.

Think about it…

What does a movie producer do?

They don’t write.

They don’t act.

They don’t shoot the film.

They don’t direct the film.

They don’t edit the film.

And they don’t distribute it.

But without the movie producer?

NONE of it would be possible to begin with!

See the movie producer knows the precise sequence & path of how to give birth to a blockbuster movie.

They know that without a blockbuster SCRIPT?

They won’t attract A-list actors.

Without the A-list actors?

There are no big-time investors.

No big-time investors?

No big-time director.

No big-time director?

No blockbuster movie!

So they get REAL good at scouting HOT blockbuster scripts.

The same thing is true here….

Except instead of scouting blockbuster scripts.

We’re scouting blockbuster businesses…

How would you like to get a little piece of the $452,282,115 million dollars Gladiator grossed in sales in 2000 alone?

Never mind DVD sales, online digital sales, and streaming over the years.

Plus boxed sets and 20-year anniversary releases.

If you just had a TINY piece of that would you be upset?

NOPE.

I used to trade my time for loads of money because I thought that’s how I got ahead…

I saw lawyers and doctors do it!

So it should work for me too, right?

But it led me to take on bossy clients demanding their deadlines be met…

My personal life started to get shaped and molded by what was demanded in my business.

And scope creep became a very real thing.

Weekends were eaten up with either doing MORE work on client projects than was agreed…

And my personal life widdled down to what few minutes were left in the week.

No, I put my foot down and stopped playing that game…

So today, I invest my time & energy into setting up ASSETS. 

Because assets spin-off money while we’re not present.

That doesn’t mean there’s no work required but we don’t always have to be the one who does it either:-)

And in this case, my assets are partnership deals and their email databases. 

So now, I don’t have to invest thousands of dollars of my own money into ads to build a big email list.

Nor do I use my own time & energy running ads, testing what works, or dealing with banned ad accounts.

Because my partners already have that stuff handled.

I don’t have to BUILD an email list, I just need to get CONTROL of an email list. 

And this is a lot simpler than folks think.

Because it’s partnerships that took me from feeling out of control of my schedule and my income…

…to putting me in the driver’s seat and generating massive 5-figure paydays in 14 days or less.

Where I’m the chooser of who I partner with!

I don’t beg anybody for their business.

I get to DECIDE who I wanna work with.

Instead of settling for who will work with me.

When I make an offer to partners where the RISK IS ALL ON ME…

…there’s NOTHING but UPSIDE for them…

…and even takes energy-draining tasks off their plate?

Peeps LINE UP around the block.

This is why I don’t have to chase peeps…

And because my Life’s Merry-Go-Round isn’t loaded with liabilities (aka monthly expenses)…

I can relax.

There’s no pressure on my part to GET a deal…

Or MAKE MONEY.

Instead, I can do more of what’s FUN for me and take my time if I want.

I can load up my Life’s Merry-Go-Round with assets (thru partnerships) that spinoff cash flow without my ass having to work for it every single time. 

That’s where I got a piece of mind that if I couldn’t work/play for 6 to 12 months?

I’d be OK…

Because the money faucet wasn’t gonna get turned off.

And the well wasn’t gonna run dry.

See…

Here’s why I chose to go full movie producer mode…

I know folks who have huge email lists (aka movie scripts)…

…but they still have millions of dollars trapped inside them.

And those monies are locked up tighter than Fort Knox.

Unless you know how to make it rain!

But my first $50k month was with a tiny 750-person email list and my personal FB profile with 2500 friends.

It wasn’t about the SIZE.

It was about the RELATIONSHIP I had with them.

So when my mentor came in with a few lines to shoot out to my list & Facebook…

It was like the floodgates had opened up.

All that money (and people needing help) was just waiting to pour out into my Paypal account!

I didn’t realize it could be so SIMPLE.

Now, to be fair…I had built a decent amount of social equity within my audience.

And it breaks my heart because there are folks barely bringing in $10k a month with 100,000 list when it COULD be $100k a month or more!

And that’s where you and I come in…
